Daily Digest: 6/9/10: Back in Hollywood and In the Saddle

I’ve been away from my computer on a mini-vacation the past 4 or 5 days back to another part of Cali, east of LA. It’s not the most exciting town, but a lot of my close friends are there so it’s always nice to go back. I got in some stellar workouts as well, with my good buddy Scott – who is a former college baseball player. He is also very knowledgeable about fitness and keeping lean, and I finally convinced him to start up his own blog and put his mad skills to work. He’s getting it rolling, and once it’s up, will be solid information that I recommend reading.

New running shoes :)

I’m in my second week of Jeet Kune Do Martial Arts classes, and they are incredible. Not only for the technique and skill base, but the conditioning aspect is tough as well, working out in a different style than your typical gym workout. My core today is insanely sore from last night’s 2 hour session – in a way I don’t get from hanging leg raises! Great for building dense hard muscles while dropping body fat.

I’m going to be writing up my exact workout plan for summer as soon as I get back from running around like a mad chicken. Should be posted by late tonight, so for you night owls, check back around midnight tonight. For you normal sleepers, it’ll be up for your reading pleasure tomorrow. Check back soon!

Martial arts would be a fantastic cardio .. imagine doing all aerial kicks would leave me stuffed

    Yavor,
Thanks man, I felt guilty taking a few days off of here! But I’ve got some great new post ideas coming up soon ;)

    Raymond,
Awesome stuff isn’t it? I’m loving it, but we haven’t done any aerial stuff yet, bummer.. hopefully soon! Yeah it’s a great cardio – fun, functional and pretty damn exhausting lol. Is Tong Kune Do a similar form?
